iiNet launches ADSL service
18 September, 2000
iiNet, Western Australia's leading Internet Access Provider, today
launched its highly anticipated ADSL service.
Expected to be available in October, iiNet ADSL will be available on a 6,
12 or 18 month contract. The setup fee, which includes an ADSL modem,
installation and on-site training, is $399, $259, or $189 respectively,
depending on the contract period.
The service is available in two speeds, 256k download with 64k upload for
$85 per month, and 1.5M download with 256k upload for $125 per month. Both
options include 500Mb of download data, with excess usage charged at 15c
per Mb.
"Our ADSL products compare very favourably with other retail offerings"
said iiNet Executive Director Mr Andrew Milner. "Both the monthly base
rate and charges for excess data usage are highly competitive."
Unlike other recently announced ADSL offerings, iiNet customers will be
able to choose their preferred long distance telephone provider without
incurring a price penalty on the ADSL service. This freedom of choice will
enable iiNet ADSL customers to more effectively leverage their voice and
data services to improve cost savings.
The iiNet ADSL service further strengthens the company's Small to Medium
Enterprise market strategy by adding to the existing access product range.
