iiNet is pleased to announce that Local Telecom and Internet Limited’s shareholders have approved the sale to iiNet on 3 March 2003.

Local Telecom and Internet Limited consist of two independent Internet Service Providers, RuralNet (www.ruralnet.net.au) and Tas Access (www.tassie.net.au).

The two ISPs combined currently have about 15,000 customers, with the majority of the clients based in Tasmania and rural Victoria.

Integration of the new customers will begin over the next months. Full integration is expected by the end of June 2003. iiNet will be in contact with all new customers in the next few weeks to ensure a warm welcome and hassle-free migration!
