Newsletter: December 1996
Editorial This is our first newsletter that both Western Australian and South Australian users will receive. Leigh Hart, the technical manager of iiNet in South Australia, recently visited the Western Australian office where we discussed a wide range of issues, working towards tightly integrating our WA and SA offices.
We've Moved! As a result, our Perth office has moved to Level 9 of the QV.1 building - just up the road at 250 St Georges Terrace in Perth. Our offices in 105 St Georges Terrace will remain as a centre for our Internet training and some technical services. These offices will trade under the name "Intuition" - a division of iiNet, but more about that later. Our phone and fax numbers will remain unchanged, however please direct postal correspondence to
250 St Georges Terrace Perth WA 6000 The postal address for our Adelaide office will remain unchanged as:
76 Waymouth Street Adelaide SA 5000
Our Perth Rotaries If you are dialing our Perth numbers, please keep in mind that the only rotary starting with 322 that is still functional is 322-5432, which is also being phased out over the next few months. Our primary rotary number for Perth is 461-4000.
The iiNet Network If you are calling our South Australian nodes, you will note they now have LCP support, which means that when you connect you don't need to use a script or type in your log in details - it is all negotiated automatically with Windows 95!
New Services Firstly, iiNet has teamed up with a leading Perth graphical design firm to create "iiCon", a new online publishing firm specialising in high end corporate presence on the Internet. Some of iiCon's first projects have been the Gosnell's Amcal Chemist (http://www.gac.com.au/) and the Hopman Cup Tennis Tournament (http://hopmancup.iinet.net.au/) As mentioned earlier, Intuition has also been formed to provide high quality Internet training in our well equipped facilities in Perth. Meanwhile, Internet Support Services continues to perform courses in our Adelaide offices. In addition to these new companies, iiNet is also offering professional IT consulting services. The rates and areas of specialty are as follows:

Network Downtime
Sunday 15 December, 1996 Due to the extended nature of this outage, our backup power systems can not keep our services running for the entire duration. Services that will be affected include our Perth dialup and ISDN systems, as well as uplinks that terminate in Perth.
