Open Day DVD Winner

The iiNet Open Day is over for another year. We would like to thank you all for coming along and making the day a huge success.

Over 600 people came through iiNet's doors for either a tour of our facilities or an informative seminar.

We would like to congratulate Joel from Wembley who won the Sony DVD Door Prize.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

iiNet Moves into Regional New South Wales and Victoria

iiNet have now joined forces with WebFront and Country NetLink. WebFront is based in the Griffith-Leeton area and has serviced regional New South Wales since 1996. Country NetLink is based in Cobram and has also been providing dial up access to regional Victoria and New South Wales since 1995.

iiNet, WebFront and Country NetLink are similar businesses, with a focus on quality customer service. This merger will allow us to extend access for customers in all three states.

iiNet would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new WebFront and Country NetLink clients and hope you enjoy our newsletter!

Variations to The iiNet Standard Form of Agreement (SFOA)

The iiNet SFOA contains important information about your rights and obligations. We are currently reviewing the SFOA and intend to vary the terms and conditions early in the New Year.

In accordance with the Telecommunications Determination (Standard Form of Agreement Information) 1999, We will publish a summary notice of the proposed variations in The Australian no less than 21 days prior to the variations taking effect.

In addition, a copy of the proposed SFOA will be available on the iiNet homepage prior to the variation taking effect.

The revised edition (v3.0) will separate the current Agreement into 2 documents. The SFOA itself will be abridged to the required legal terms and conditions that directly apply to the supply of your service. A Schedule to the SFOA (called the Service Schedule) has been prepared and contains service descriptions, links to service pricing, administrative processes and individual service terms.

Please stay tuned, as more information on these changes will be provided in our next client newsletter.

Exploit in Internet Explorer 5.0 and above

Microsoft recently released an announcement about an exploit found in Internet Explorer. This affects Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 5.0 and above as well as Microsoft Outlook.

The exploit allows scripts to run in Internet Explorer or Outlook which could execute malicious commands and compromise computers both standalone and on a network. Due to the security risks involved, Microsoft have assigned this with a "Critical" rating.

For more information about this bug and what you can do to protect your computer, have a look at:
