Newsletter: March 2002
Welcome to the March edition of the iiNet newsletter. The last month has been an eventful one for iiNet, particularly with the resolution of our Interconnect dispute with Telstra. For more information, please visit our Press Release page at: http://www.iinet.net.au/about/investor/mediareleases/02mediarelease2.html
In line with our determination to continually provide the best quality service to our customers, iiNet has set a goal to become Quality Assured in 2002. This involves the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance Standards across the entire organisation. What does this mean to you? Well, ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognised standard that requires iiNet to implement policies and procedures across all operations which govern the way we provide our service to you. Once these procedures are in place, we will be assessed by an independent assessor and hopefully granted Quality Assured status! This should improve the quality and consistency of service we provide to you, meaning more peace of mind for you - our valued clients.
iiNet would like to inform all Voyager clients that as of the 5th of April, the reduced set up fees for the Voyager Upgrade path to all ADSL Business products will no longer be available. You may see this as an excellent opportunity to use the next few weeks to apply for an upgrade to an ADSL Business account. ADSL is the new technology that is revolutionising Internet access by offering high speed, permanent Internet access over standard telephone lines. iiNet would also like to inform Voyager Home account holders of a change to a feature of their account. Currently a second dial up account is available, allowing a second login. The cost of the Voyager Home with this additional dial up is currently the same as the cost of the dial up account on its own. This was never intended, and only occurred because the Voyager Home "inherited" the features of the more expensive ($100+ per month) Voyager accounts. As such, this feature will be withdrawn on or after April 5th. You may wish to look at a cheap dial up account such as the Atlantis product for those times when you do need to dial in. iiNet's Standard Form of Agreement (SFOA) is being updated to reflect these change of conditions to the Voyager account, and this notice constitutes the 21 days notice required in the SFOA.
iiNet now offers two home-based Broadband Internet service products utilising the latest in ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) technology - ADSL Home Explorer and ADSL Home Freedom. This new technology, which utilises the copper in your phone line, offers significant improvements over a traditional dial-up connection. ADSL is available in most areas. To find out if your suburb is Broadband-enabled, just visit http://www.iinet.net.au/products/broadband/adsl/canigetadsl.html Why you should make the move to Broadband - 3 points to consider! #1 With iiNet's ADSL the connection is permanent with no more reconnection or disconnections. Furthermore if you are currently paying rental for a second line, iiNet ADSL allows you to revert to a single line saving you money. #2 iiNet's ADSL is also delivered over your existing phone line without interfering with your dial tone. With iiNet ADSL the kids can surf the net and you can use the phone at the same time. #3 iiNet's ADSL Home products can provide you with speeds up to 10 times faster than your old 56k modem. No more waiting for files and emails to download - saving you time and money. If you're thinking of making the change to Broadband, and would like to know more go to: http://www.iinet.net.au/products/broadband/adsl/products.html to view product information on iiNet's new ADSL Home Explorer and Freedom accounts. You can even apply online using your credit card: https://signup.iinet.net.au/adsl/application/
We have updated our existing phone system and will be implementing the changes within the next fortnight. As some of the menu options you use may have changed please listen carefully to the prompts, and have your username and account type ready to assist in choosing the correct options.
