We have been very busy merging the Wantree team with our existing staff. It is proving to be an exciting time for us. We have also just released our first television advertising campaign which promotes our easii connect packs. Additional Lines Phone Lines - As you know we are continually adding more phone lines to our main dial in number to accommodate our growing client base. We have just added 240 lines to 92131000 taking it up to 2520 lines. Our next upgrade of this type is due around the 20th December, and will again be about 240 lines. Computer Expo The 1999 Perth Computer and Technology Expo was held over the weekend of the 14th of November and iiNet was proud to be the Official ISP for this landmark event. Over 36 thousand people attended the event over the 4 days and, as part of the show, a competition was run to win a top of the line, multimedia computer. The competition attracted around 30,000 entries. The winner has been drawn; he is Peter S. of Willetton. Congratulations to Peter from all of us here at iiNet! Peter has been running an IBM 486 and the change to a Pentium III 450 will make a spectacular improvement to his web browsing, for which a years' access is also included as part of the prize. Customer Service Questionnaire Thanks to everyone who participated in the Customer service and Satisfaction questionnaire run over the last 6 weeks; the number of respondents exceeded all expectations. The results obtained from it will be used to examine the quality of the service provided to our customers and to optimise our products and procedures used to deliver them. The computer that was the prize for participating in the survey was a state of the art Pentium III 450 system with a years' Internet access. Congratulations to Kellie B of Landsdale who is more than happy to have her 486 upgraded to a system that will be a valuable tool to aid her research for her PhD. APC Magazine ISP Survey We would like to thank all of the iiNet clients who contributed to the Australian Personal Computer Magazine's ISP Survey. We've been fortunate to receive a positive review from APC for the past three years, a record we are extremely proud of. Staffing iiNet are proud to announce the appointment of Wayne de Witt as our Information Officer. Wayne has been a long-standing member of our Corporate Projects team. We wish him well in this newly created, Human Resources position. Games News With the deployment of our new games machine "drumnbass", iiNet Games has almost completed the merger with Wantree Games. All of the Wantree games servers will be moved onto the dual Pentium III 450, which is a major improvement over the previous Pentium 200 machines. The Quake3 server is in the process of being upgraded to the latest and greatest version. Counterstrike has been updated to beta 4, and the AQ2 server was upgraded a few weeks ago, making most of the gamers out there very happy. The games meeting was a huge success, a lot of non-staff game admins came to help us decide the future of iiNet Games, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our gameops, who continue to be a great help to us.
