iiNet Float on the ASX

On the 20th of September iiNet became the first Western Australian Internet Service Provider to list on the Australian Stock Exchange.

We were very pleased by the number of applications received and the demand for shares. We sincerely thank you all for your interest in becoming part owners in iiNet and look forward to our continuing association.

Thank you as well, to all those people who suggested we post our stock trading prices on our site. We have now added this and it can be found at http://www.iinet.net.au/about/ or just by going to the 'About' button at the top of our home page.

Wantree News

The integration of iiNet and Wantree continues and we would like to use this newsletter to introduce some key Wantree staff.

Andrew Milner -- Andrew was the founder, managing director and principal shareholder of Wantree Internet. Andrew sits on the Board as one of our executive directors. He will also be working on our wireless technologies and co-ordinating future broadband services.

David McPhail -- David comes to us from Wantree where he was the Customer Service Manager. After spending 3 years attending to customers needs, maintaining the help desk and administering Wantree's domain name services, he will now be positioned as the Training Manager for iiNet's customer service section.

Customise the iiNet Home Page

Did you know that our home page (http://www.iinet.net.au/) can be tailored to display a range of services not shown on the default homepage?

Click on the 'Customise' button to login and from there you will be presented with a range of services including 1/2 hourly updated articles from numerous websites, stats from iiNet servers, daily quotes and jokes and even an iiNet generated horoscope.

The Latest in Games

On September 28, GT Interactive released the Final Demo of their latest project "Unreal Tournament". Naturally, iiNet already has a fast and local server ready for gamers to play on.

If you are yet to download the new demo, you can find it on our FTP server at ftp://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/games/unreal/client Once you have the Demo on your computer, you will be able to play the game on our game server. The server name is unreal.iinet.net.au

iiNet Subscriber Offer

The Black Swan Theatre Company has extended a fantastic offer to all iiNet subscribers.

If you buy one ticket to the Play "Closer", on selected nights, you get one free. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. Terms and conditions:

Valid only for the performances of Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th & Thursday 21st of October. Closer is on stage 8pm nightly at the Subiaco Theatre Centre, 180 Hamersley Rd, Subiaco.

40 seats per performance are on hold for iiNet subscribers.

iiNet subscribers receive one free ticket on the purchase of one full standard price ticket ($35.00).

There is one free ticket per booking and additional tickets can be purchased at the discounted price of $25.00 each.

Computer Expo

The first Perth Computer and Technology Expo incorporating Internet '99 will be held in November at the Burswood Dome.

iiNet is proud to be a sponsor of this landmark event and we are happy to invite 100 of our users to attend the Expo on us.
