Newsletter: October 2001
* Welcome Welcome Welcome to the October issue of the iiNet newsletter. This month we have embarked upon a project designed to completely overhaul our customer account tools, and will be looking for your input in next month's newsletter, so stay tuned! Some of these great new tools have already been released - see below for details on the new Webtrack tool for Explorer accounts, and the new credit tool for Atlantis pre-paid accounts. Voyager PlayStation 2 Competition Winners! The winners of our Voyager account line changeover competition have been drawn. Congratulations to John from Wangara and Adam from Subiaco! These two lucky gentlemen were each presented with the latest Sony PlayStation 2 game console, complete with the new Gran Turismo 3 driving pack. You can see our winners at the following address: http://www.iinet.net.au/newsletters/compwinners.html iiNet would like to thank all our Voyager clients who changed over quickly to our new number. Win Tickets to Scary Movie 2 iiNet is running another of our popular movie competitions! We are giving you the opportunity to win a double pass to an exclusive preview screening of the hilarious Scary Movie 2, on Wednesday October 17th at Hoyts Cinema City. To enter the draw, simply visit our competition site at the following URL: http://www.iinet.net.au/competition/ Good luck! Network News This month has seen our Network Operations team deploying new dialup numbers to the majority of our remote POPs. Our new telecommunications provider, Chime Communications - a wholly owned subsidiary of iiNet Ltd - has provided these numbers, allowing iiNet in turn to provide a better quality service infrastructure to our clients. If you dial into one of our regional POPs, you may find that you have recently been receiving emailed notifications of the change to your dialup numbers. Once the old numbers have been decommissioned you will only be able to access a webpage asking you to dial the new numbers. This transition is almost complete for most POPs, and iiNet would like to thank all its regional clients for their co-operation in moving to the new numbers - we hope you notice an improvement in the quality of service you are receiving! POPs which have had their new numbers implemented include the following: POP Location: Old Number: New Number: ------------ -------------- -------------- Kalgoorlie (08) 9080 8000 (08) 9000 3000 Bunbury (08) 9721 0700 (08) 9707 3000 Margaret River (08) 9757 0500 (08) 9760 0000 Albany (08) 9842 7100 (08) 9843 0000 Geraldton (08) 9956 0300 (08) 9922 0000 Rockingham (08) 9528 0200 (08) 9500 9000 If you are having trouble changing the dialup number in your software, simply visit the following URL and select your operating system at the bottom of the page: http://www.iinet.net.au/help/change/ Changes to iiNet's IVR System In response to customer feedback we have revamped our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, with the new changes being implemented in the week commencing 8th October. Webtrack is a service which uses a regularly updated black-list of sites that are inappropriate for children. To use this great new WebTrack tool, simply visit the following URL: and log in using your Explorer username & password. Once activated, the service will take around two hours to update, and please note that you will need to dial back in before the update will take effect. iiNet Moves with the Ages iiNet is proud to be participating in this month's BankWest "Seniors in the City Trail 2001" - Sunday 28th October to Saturday 3rd November, promoting Seniors Week. iiNet will be providing a question for the Trail, along with one free month of an iiNet Premium Explorer Account as one of the many prizes up for grabs.
