| ADSL Modem Options:
In order to get your Broadband Internet access connected you
will need an ADSL modem, which can only be used on ADSL enabled
phone lines. These special modems allow you to experience ultra
fast Internet access without tying up the line for normal voice
calls.
Provide your own modem
If you already own an ADSL modem then you can use it with your
iiNet bliink / wiink account, saving you the cost of purchasing
a new modem for the connection.
Please note that the modems provided by iiNet are specifically
configured for our network. Using other modems may require you
to install 3rd party ADSL connection software which we are unable
to provide support for.
Purchase an ADSL modem
Intensive testing of ADSL modems has led us to recommend the
D-Link DSL 200 and D-Link DSL 504G+, as these are the best devices
to offer our clients. Working in conjunction with D-Link we
can supply specially configured ADSL modems that handle all
the connection work for you. Once the modem is configured with
your iiNet Broadband username and password it will then ensure
the connection is up and running whenever your computer is turned
on. Could it be any easier?
The DSL-200 comes with a built in USB 1.1 compliant interface
for easy plug and play connectivity suitable for Windows versions
98SE and above. It is recommended for users with a single computer,
it is not possible to have multiple computers share the connection
using this device.

Purchase an ADSL Router
Want to get your whole office network using your Broadband
Internet connection to its full potential? With the D-Link DSL
504G it’s easier than ever. The DSL 504G has four ports,
enabling up to four computers to connect directly to it, simply
by using a cable! Each computer connected to the router will
be able share the same Broadband connection, exchange files,
and play games with each other.

Additional hardware you may need:
Filters
A filter separates the voice, fax and standard dialup modem
data from the Broadband ADSL digital data and is required on
each telephony device attached to your nominated Broadband ADSL
phone line.
A filter simply fits between the telephone cord and the telephone.
If you purchase a Broadband ADSL modem / router from iiNet,
we provide one filter for free. You can indicate on your application
form if you require any additional filters.
Please note that some incompatibilities may exist between filters
and Panasonic cordless telephones. If this is the case, we recommend
using a "Telequip (TE) In-Line Filter". These filters
are available from http://www.oztechnologies.com
Splitters
A splitter does its filtering before the line comes into your
house, and filters all points on the line.
You will require a splitter to be installed if any of the following
apply to you:
• You have a monitored security alarm system on the nominated
Broadband ADSL line.
• You have more than 3 telephony devices (telephones,
fax machines, answering machines) on the nominated Broadband
ADSL line.
If you purchase an ADSL modem / router from iiNet, then we
can supply you with the splitter hardware. You will need to
arrange your own 3rd party installer.

Ethernet Cards
Our D-Link ADSL router requires you to have a spare Ethernet port on your computer to connect the router to your computer. If you do not have a free Ethernet Card, you will need to purchase one. You can purchase an additional Ethernet card from iiNet if required.
Note: If you purchase a DSL 200 USB modem you will not require an Ethernet Cards – USB devices can simply be plugged into a USB port on your computer. Please check with your local computer dealer if you are not sure if you have a USB port.
Additional IPs
bliink BIZ and Voyager accounts (Voyager Home and SOHO
accounts may only have one IP address) include one static IP address.
IP's are only sold in blocks of 4, 8, 16 or 32. The first and
last IP of each block is not useable. A detailed network usage
map must be supplied and approved for blocks over 4.
Please Note: You will need to specify which hosts need a static
IP and what function they provide. (i.e Email server, VPN server,
router, etc.)
