ADSL Inline Filter Installation: 600 Series Phone Sockets
- Locate the phone socket for your ADSL line and remove any existing 600 series
(pronged rectangular plug) phone cord from the telephone socket located on the wall
- Take your supplied ADSL inline filter and insert the telephone cord from the
LINE side into the wall socket
- Insert the RJ11 phone cord or adapter that was previously plugged into the wall socket
into the ADSL inline filter on the PHONE side
If you are unable to detach the 600 series adapter from the end of your phone cable to
expose the RJ11 phone socket (clear square modular plug), you will need to obtain an
RJ12 phone cable (cables with the clear square modular plug on either end) to attach to
your phone instead.
- Repeat for EVERY phone socket on your ADSL phone line that has a working
telephony device connected to it
This includes, but is not limited to, the following list of devices:
- Telephones
- Fax machines
- Modems
- EFTPOS terminals
Note: Please make sure that no filters are installed in front of the ADSL
modem.
Important Note: If you have more than three (3) telephony devices on the ADSL line, an
installer will need to visit you to install a central inline splitter.
You are able to purchase a central inline splitter through the ADSL application process, but you will need to contact an installer to install it for you. You can find a list of installers
here.
