The DSL-300 C3 modem provided by is NOT a standard DSL-300 modem.
This modem has inbuilt PPPoE authentication software and also issues
192.168.0.x IP addresses to any PCs attached to it via a network. If
you have an internal network configured, it is STRONGLY advised that you
consult with a network consultant before proceeding.

To determine if you have a D-Link DSL-300 C3 modem, simply pick up your modem and
look for the label at the base. The label will indicate whether you have Ver:
C2 or Ver: C3*
If you have version C2 of the DSL-300 modem, you will need to obtain a 3rd party
PPPoE client such as RAS PPPoE
for Windows users, or
EnterNet for Macintosh users.

* You may also have the DSL300+ which is the same as the DSL-300 C3. You can
identify the DSL300+ by the labels DSL300+ and A1 on the badge of the modem.
