Netscape Communicator: I get an 'Invalid password' error when checking mail

The Invalid Password error occurs when a username or a password is unrecognised by the mail server. Ensure that there are no typographical errors and that the letters are in all lower case. UPPERCASE letters will not be recognise when logging on to our mail server, even if the username is correct. Username is not username@iinet.net.au, that is your email address. Do not confuse them.

The error can also be the result of incomplete or incorrect settings in your mail server preferences in Netscape, like mail server name, username or password.
