Error 629: port disconnect by the remote computer
The likely cause of this error is an incorrect username or password, entering
a name in a remote network domain or invcorrect Security settings.
Follow the instructions below.
- Double click the My Computer icon on your Desktop then double
click Dial-Up Networking
- In the Phonebook entry to dial choose the connection to the iiNet
- Click More and then Edit entry and modem properties
- Make sure you select Accept any authentication incliding cleat text
- Click the Unsave password button and click OK
- If the button is not available, greyed out, go to the next step
- Click Close button to exit
- This time when you try dialing, you should see a window as below
- In the username type your unique iiNet username
- It is one word and all in lower case, it is not username@iinet.net.au
- that is your email address
- Type your secret password
- Leave the Domain field empty
- If you are still having problems authenticating, please call iiNet to confirm
your password
