To check Modem settings click the Apple icon in the upper left, then click Control Panels, then Modem

• Set Connect via to Modem port
• Select your Modem
• Select the Sound value
• Set Dialing to Tone
• Select Ignore dial tone
• Click the close square to save changes and exit
