To check modem properties in Windows:

  • Click on Start
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Double-click on the Modems
You should have one modem set up and listed in the window. If you don't have a modem listed here you will need to install it. If you have more than one modem choose the one you are using by highlighting it.
