To check modem properties in Windows:
Click on Start
Click on Settings
Click on Control Panel
Double-click on the Modems
You should have one modem set up and listed in the window. If you don't have a modem listed
here you will need to install it. If you have more than one modem choose the one you are using
by highlighting it.
